Bear with me; I have no formal training in philosophy. Are you saying that it is possible to prove a negative provided inductive proof is allowed?

This might account for my strong feeling that it is possible to prove (indeed, has been proven) that my plates are not trying to murder me. But I'm not quite sure that I'm understanding you correctly.
