The Operation Rescue people somehow ignore that their religion began with a willing self-sacrifice. The objection to abortion among the early followers of Jesus (they were not Christians then) began very early (I believe the first record is from the second century CE), but I have never heard that the early Christians attacked abortionists. There is something horrible in this attack on sacred ground. It is as if they believe that their god has abandoned them, and so have turned to the devil.
Which means...I'm not sure, but I think it means something. It matters, somehow.
