You mean besides the life jacket I am wearing in the picture, the two spare paddles whose handles can be seen in the picture, and the front painter that doubles as a throw rope which is partly visible in the picture? There's also a back painter (which I don't think is visible in the picture), but it's only 10 feet long; nowadays on flat water I usually tie it to me, so that if I go overboard Patience won't leave without me. I don't think I'd adopted that trick at the time the picture was taken.
