Alas, not being the happy possessor of a TV, I didn't know this. Thank you for letting me know. I am greatly cheered :-)

I thought McCain had some good points, but I mostly agreed with Obama. But then, I knew that going in :-)

The part where McCain was having trouble pronouncing foreign leaders names kind of startled me--it's great that he knows all these people, and what their positions are, but even I can say Ahmedinejad, while McCain seemed barely able to choke it out. I know he knows this stuff, so that surprised me.

Also it's a little odd that he called Pakistan a failed state before Musharraf's coup. I'm sure it wasn't perfect but it seemed to be reasonably functional.

I liked Obama's points about how energy ties in with so much of foreign policy, and how we're not going to be able to drill our way out of that. If we could only get a president and a Congress who took renewable energy seriously, maybe we could finally make some progress.
