Since I have two reports that it was publicly announced at Duple Time, I'm going to figure that it's probably okay for me to announce that Quartertone, which will be February 1-3 2013 in Grantham England, has invited me to be their US guest.

I'm very happy and honored to be asked, and very excited about this chance to hear the filk of a whole 'nother country and hopefully continent.  I will do my best to live up to the honor of the occasion, and am looking forward to it very much.

True -- I hope we can sometime in between, but I don't get to many non-local conventions. I'll be at Chicago's Worldcon, because a friend is sponsoring me there (as well as to Quarter Tone, actually), and I'm thinking of going to Concertino on my own dime because Playing Rapunzel will be there with baby, but I can't afford much else this year.

I don't know how often you get back to the northwest, but please look in if you do.

I've never been to a Worldcon--they're so expensive; I'm sure they're a good time, but... wow.

I love the Northwest, and its cons, but haven't been to a con there since I moved to Tennessee. But if I do make it back sometime of course it would be great to see you.

There's a bare chance I might get there -- Naomi is pushing for it, but it would definitely be a stretch financially.

Maybe I should work on my next CD?

It would be wonderful to see you, of course. And I'm sure it would be a very exciting and fun con.

But obviously you also have to be realistic about what your finances will allow.

I am certainly hoping to have my CD finished by then, and perhaps if I work *really* hard, a second CD.

Perhaps OVFF. I know you're going to be busy as heck at Quarter Tone, and it would be good to have some time to sit down, catch up, and swap songs. Not that I've written any songs lately...
