[livejournal.com profile] randwolf had some really interesting comments on the balloon photo I posted. This inspired me to see if I could repeat my success, or at least some of the elements that led to my success. So I took my camera outside yesterday evening and found the moon conveniently tangled in a tree.

I cropped the original photo to show off the diagonals better. But the original wavy outline of trees against the sky is good too, so I uploaded that to flickr as well.

These are the small sizes so hopefully they won't take too long to upload. You can see larger versions by clicking on the pictures.

A poem should be motionless in time
As the moon climbs

Leaving, as the moon releases
Twig by twig the night-entangled trees,

Leaving, as the moon behind the winter leaves,
Memory by memory the mind —

A poem should be motionless in time
As the moon climbs ...

from "Ars Poetica" by Archibald MacLeish

Well, the moon is yours anyway.

The moon belongs to everyone; the best things in life are free.
