catsittingstillI spent much of the day trying to get the mp3 player to talk to a computer--any computer. I took it to Carson Newman and tried to get it to talk to my husband's computer. We got stuck at a higher level of not working, at least--I got the Music Manager (the program that's supposed to let player and computer communicated) to load, and to run. But it can't recognize that the player's hooked up to the USB cable.
I then went home and upgraded Taliesin to 10.2 (which is the system my husband's computer was running). Now we're stuck at the same higher level of not working--Music Manager runs without complaint but will not admit that the player is plugged in.
I don't know what's wrong. There's a phone number given for iRiver tech support--since I haven't been getting answers to my e-mails I'll try this first thing (well, 8:00am Pacific) tomorrow morning. But *grump*! It ought to be easier than this to get a decent player hooked up!
