Catch-up Sunday
Dec. 14th, 2003 10:25 amWell, since I may be starting work tomorrow (won't know till I talk to Chris tomorrow morning), I've been trying to get caught up on all those things that may be harder to do once I'm working regular hours. I've wrapped all the Christmas presents I've got, and I've written Christmas poems for, and boxed, the presents that get shipped to my family in Portland. I'll still need to wrap the last of the Turpin presents when they come in, and box and mail them. I've also rescheduled my mandolin lesson, and gotten the vacuum cleaner fixed.
I'm also in the middle of evaluating our progress on Echo's Children's new CD--if we're going to get it done in time for GaFilk (a science fiction convention early in January) it has to be done *soon*.

It's ironic that just as I was looking to spend more time with Kip over the winter break (Kip teaches college), I start a new job. At least its only 75% time. If I can schedule it into 3 ten hour days, I can still have 4 day weekends :-)
Anyway, lots to do today. It's Kip's birthday, so I'm going to make him a strawberry cake (his favorite). For some reason its possible to buy strawberry cake mixes in this part of the country (I looked for one when we lived in Spokane but couldn't find any). I also found strawberry icing :-). Next year I may even try to make a strawberry cake from scratch but this year I don't have time.
We may even manage to fit in going to Knoxville to watch the Return of the King.
