Had a visitor
Dec. 14th, 2009 09:08 amWe had a friend come and stay with us Saturday night. Mike came in about 7:00pm Saturday, after kindly picking up some mint ice cream (at my request) and diet Mountain Dew (which I don't get much anymore--and he left the leftovers with us :-)
I made roast chicken (though I added extra vegetables and this time it came out more steamed than roasted. Still tender and juicy, but not browned as much as I like) and rice, and fresh brownies for dessert, which go swimmingly with a small scoop of mint ice cream if I do say so myself. :-)
We showed him Eve Online, but hopefully didn't get him hooked. :-) Apparently socially and economically it has a lot in common with World of Warcraft, which I've never played.
It's really nice to have a real guest room--that makes this kind of thing very convenient, so hopefully we'll be able to have guests over more often. At some point I need to build some sort of frame for the airbed so it won't look quite so improvised. It's actually a pretty comfortable bed--I have slept on it myself more than once, as sometimes it's useful to bring one's own bed along on visits. But it does look a little lonely lying on the floor.
