I have grouted the shower, mostly successfully.  Still need to caulk it and then it will be usable again and I can start on the tub.

I have replaced the G_d. D_mn_d. Fuze. in the kitchen hood.  Why the designers thought it would be a good idea to make it necessary to remove the screens, the bottom cover, the light cover and disconnect a harness of wires to make it possible to even see the fuse I will never know.  Would it have killed them to put an access plate in the G_D. D_MN_D FRONT for goodnessake?  And if it would have killed them, couldn't they have sacrificed themselves for the good of the community?

Fortunately I am able to put my shoulder blades flat on the stovetop will keeping my feet flat on the floor--unfortunately this is not a comfortable position to hold for more than a few minutes at a time.

Not only that, when you *can* see the fuse, you can't get your fingers in there to pry it out of its little holder.  I ended up breaking it (trying to pry it out with a screwdriver--I was gentle but glass just can't take that kind of shear stress) and then using needle nose pliers to pick out the end pieces.  Sprinkling broken glass over your face is an experience I recommend foregoing.  Fortunately getting the new fuse in is much easier.

Also the bottom cover has sharp edges.  The bandaids are in the bathroom, below the right edge of the mirror.

There is a reason why I'd had that hood most of a year before replacing that fuse.

I keep reminding myself that I have guests over so that I take care of these sorts of problems before I end up with a house where I have to saw some of the rooms off and burn them.
