I think it's pronounced "Oh-fee-YOU-cuss."

Instead of a Sagittarius.

Cool.

You know, if astrology suddenly started working once the birth dates are calculated right, that would be impressive.

Alas, apparently an astrologer is claiming nothing has changed because astrology really isn't about the stars.  It's about the relationship between the earth, the sun, and the other planets; no stars involved.

Maybe they're changing the name to "solology", since the stars have nothing to do with it.  While they're at it, naming the groups of personality traits after constellations is misleading; perhaps they should choose other names.  Healthy changes, long overdue to help separate solology from confused notions about the significance of the stars, if what the astrologer is saying is correct.

And, ah, since the equatorial constellations aren't involved, why do we think there people divide up evenly into twelve groups, again?  As opposed to, oh, thirteen?  Or twenty seven?  Or thirty six?  Or four thousand five hundred and twenty seven?

Does the solology require that the number of groups divide evenly into 360 to work right or something?   Also, if it has to do with the relative positions of the sun and all the planets, shouldn't you have a longer period than an earth year?  Because no way are the planets going to come around to the same positions in a single earth year.  Only the earth does that, and only with respect to.... the stars.

Well, never mind.  Pick the sign you like--it will work just as well as anything else.

And, as peteralway, and gfish pointed out, the mismatch of the zodiac and the plane of the equator has been known for a long time.  It's amusing that it's suddenly being considered as though the alignment of the equator to the stars actually mattered for astrology, but it's not new.
