So I received an invitation to Google+ from Randwolf (thank you!) and am going to try it out.
One thing I really wish it had is the ability to cross-post or accept cross-posts, since I'm mostly envisioning this as a foothold in the new place in case everyone migrates from LiveJournal. The old (pre-million-ads) Livejournal I guess really shaped my expectation of what social media is. I don't care for the one paragraph "what I had for breakfast" Twitter and Facebook format--if something's really important I have more to say than the format allows and if something's not really important I have my doubts about wasting other people's time on it.
I mean, what do you care that I had cottage cheese and a banana for breakfast? You're probably like "Great, fine, whatever, glad you're not going to starve, but I kind of figured you had that covered anyway."
I have a Facebook account mostly so I can make sure certain people who have quit posting on LJ aren't actually, you know, dead.
And by the way if you don't like LJ's million ads, I am currently cross-posting everything from Dreamwidth (catsittingstill.dreamwidth.org) and you are quite welcome to read and comment there. If I start posting stuff to Google+ that I don't post here, I'll say.
Also I'm Cat Sittingstill on Google+ and if you're on Google+ too and I haven't added you to a circle and you'd like me to, let me know.
