Rise Up Singing
Feb. 17th, 2012 06:53 amWe held Rise Up Singing again yesterday.
( Short version is it was fun. )
Also I changed my octave mandolin strings last night and put a little dab of this kind-of-like-graphite-only-white-so-it-won't-make-my-instruments-look-grubby stuff in each string groove in the nut. Because I've been having real problems recently with tuning--I'll get it perfectly in tune, play it for one song, and it goes out of tune halfway through the first chorus. I figured my problem was "left over tension" that hadn't transferred over the nut. I didn't mind it so much when I was just practicing a lot, but it's unacceptable while recording, so I'm trying this stuff.
