I ignored the debate last night.  I went to bed early with 1493 (a book about the massive biological exchange between continents begun by Columbus, and its effect on history--very good book, by the way, but you'll need your brain handy when you read it.)

As a result I not only got up early this morning I got started doing actual serious stuff early too.  I'm hoping to record tomorrow or Monday so I laid down a couple of scratch tracks, trekked to the Post Office and mailed a copy of The King's Lute to a customer, collected sheet music and midi files for four songs and sent them off to the Quarter Tone / UK World Con songbook person, sent off some info to the League Of Women Voters, practiced mandolin and octave mando and worked on a tune for a new song that isn't *quite* ready for Alice Day, alas.  It's a great set of lyrics and a decent tune but I'm not sure it's the right tune for those lyrics.  It's got most of a pretty strong countermelody too, but ... I dunno.
