Let's see. I did a 1/2 hour concert for little kids at the Jefferson City Public Library. I dusted off Tinker's Clockwork Chicken for this, which I don't seem to have posted yet, and I wrote two new songs, one about a dog and one about squirrels.
I also wrote a song for the Library Benefit Dinner (which some friends of mine put on to raise money for the new library building) which I should probably record and put up. The Library Benefit Dinner went very well and everybody laughed at the right part of the song and several people came up afterwards to tell me how much they liked it.
I have been working on a new skirt for my performance outfit--I got some blue fabric at Habitat for Humanity and a Victorian divided skirt pattern, and lo, when I had washed and carefully ironed the fabric I could get the entire skirt out of one piece (I had to piece in two triangles and I ended up with slightly over 1 square foot of scraps.) This leaves me another piece I can make a nearly matching vest out of (the second piece is not *quite* the same color as the first but very close, and is a trifle lighter weight.) Since it's a divided skirt that buttons shut to look like a regular skirt and also has pleats in back to hide its divided nature, it's a bit complicated and finicky (plus it has twenty buttonholes!) so it has taken me a while but I think I will finish it this week.
However I have caught a cold and am feeling sorry for myself. I promised to do an extra shift at the Rural Clinic to cover for someone on vacation (long before I knew I would have a cold) so I spent two solid hours talking on the phone to people who wanted appointments--and the only reason it wasn't three is that Stacy offered to take on the last hour for me. When I left she said "have a blessed day" which I don't usually care for but something occurred to me and I answered "you have already been a blessing to me, Stacy." She is a good person.
So that's what is up with me.
