_Quetico_ is particularly complicated because I have layered three vocal tracks, and they're all sung by me. So they have more of a tendency to blur into each other than they would if I had three different human voices to work with, or my voice and some instruments.
For most of my songs, it's voice and mandolin, or voice and piano (ably played by my friend Mary) or voice and octave mandolin and I just have to make sure one doesn't drown the other out completely. That's easier.
