I'm in Portland now, at my Dad's place. Me, my husband, and my rotten cold flew across the country to get here. I hope I haven't spread the rotten cold far and wide in so doing, but my tickets didn't offer an option for postponing due to illness.

It's good to see Dad again. He's getting along pretty well--he's even teaching himself to cook. He made a pork/raisin/tomato/rosemary dish for dinner this evening that was really good. Nevertheless, he promptly and cheerfully put the cooking and food prep responsibilites in my hands as of tomorrow.

And I have successfully figured out how to get the new computer to interface with my ISP via the Portland modems rather than the Knoxville modems. But I'm really short of sleep and must go to bed soon.

The second stripey sock is nearly finished. So is the yarn. Which one will be done first? Stay tuned for the thrilling conclusion to "The Case of the Lace Panel Sock."

Need more sock yarn? I could make several local-to-Portland suggestions. Heck, there are even a couple of stores we could browse tomorrow night...

Oooh. That sounds fun :-). I need some (reasonably economical) sock or sport weight yarn in a single color with little or no acrylic involved :-).
