We have electric tools (mower, weed eater, hedge trimmer) and love them. We have the plug-in kind and yeah, 100-ft extension cords, but at least those lay on the ground so it makes the overall tool less heavy than a cordless-with-battery is likely to be.
Hope you enjoy the new tools, and yeah, weed eaters and hedge trimmers are great for "edging" and maintaining fence lines (and around gutters) and such. Plus they're so much less stinky and finicky than gas-powered ones. Good for you, good for the environment, hooray! :)
