There is a great article: here. (1)

The part I like best is:
Call them liars, because that’s what they are. Sarah Palin didn’t say “thanks but no thanks” to the Bridge to Nowhere. She just said “Thanks.” You were raised by a single mother on food stamps — where does a guy with eight houses who was legacied into Annapolis get off calling you an elitist?

Oh, and there's a brief comparision of the McCain and Obama tax proposals here: here (2) It looks like Obama is (surprise?--this really shouldn't be a surprise) not going to raise taxes on the middle class. Also the deficit resulting from Obama's tax plan is quite a bit smaller. No big surprise..

These proposals are best looked on as indications of the candidates attitudes rather than specific policies; whatever bailout plan is decided on is going to be hugely expensive, and if there is no bailout, that will probably be even more expensive. So the plans aren't going to implemented as stated. One of the choices the next administration will face is whether to tax directly or tax indirectly by inflating the currency. It's going to take a great deal of moral courage to avoid using inflation as an invisible tax, despite the great difficulties of doing so.

Also see Krugman on the deficits under the various candidate's plans.

Caw!

Thanks for the great linkage. Gods above and below, I wish there really were a Josiah Bartlet and he was running...

It's always great to get more Sorkin, of course, but I disagree with his analysis here. So far, Obama's strategy of letting the McCain campaign hang itself is working quite nicely. He hasn't been swiftboated yet, despite several attempts -- we can't get too caught up in fighting the last campaign. We'll see in another couple weeks...
