Things that make me happy.
Oct. 20th, 2008 09:55 amI have voted.
I doctored my Obama/Biden t-shirt to say "I've voted. Have you? Early Voting Oct 15-30. You know you want to. Call (county election commission's phone number) for time and place." Doing my part to promote early voting and citizen-run democracy.
Pondside's CD arrived in the mail. I have not yet pried it out of its very secure packaging but it's here. Chortle.
I'm still very enamored of my Kindle; carry it nearly everywhere with me. I even took it camping a couple of weekends ago :-) And it still had reception while I was camping.
_On the Origin of Species_ is an excellent book to read right before bedtime, and available free from Manybooks.net.
I wanted to promote the Dandridge Farmer's Market because a couple of my friends sell their produce there, so I asked a member of the League of Women Voters who happens to live a few houses from me if she'd like to go with me last Saturday. After visiting the market, she invited me in for tea and we had a lovely talk. I have to get together with this woman more often! :-) I feel like I have found a new friend.
I love autumn. I don't know if I'm going to get a chance to go canoe-camping this year, alas, but I love autumn.
I actually have a little paying science writing/editing work.
OVFF is coming up and despite our having to replace 2 tires on Kip's car, I have enough money to go.
