Us geeks and our methods of play. You go jump in the lake, I go play in the freeway... some folks jump out of perfectly good airplanes... *shakes head* It's a wonder we survive. :)
Can be. Depends on how functional the family is. But then, many things do.
But, yes, one of the better times I've had was me and the now-ex and my sis and B-I-L on a pontoon boat, fishing.... even if we did end up with tuna on light bread instead of catfish and hush puppies for dinner. :/ (Silly sis, tried to boat a big ol' cat with bluegill tackle instead of the net... :)
Let me guess: Your mom or siblings told you long ago to go play in traffic, and you took them seriously? :-)
And even folks who are old enough to know better do indeed jump out of perfectly good airplanes at high altitude; yesterday's paper here reported that former President George H.W. Bush (the Elder) celebrated his 85th birthday with a tandem skydive.
No, I got a divorce, gave up cars entirely, got a new job with a bus commute that was long and taxing in more ways than one, and decided that a scooter was a good way to get there. And then I fell in with this bunch of motorcycle people, whom I discovered form community like filkers do...
You don't wave to your fellow drivers in a four wheeler. (Although Prius drivers used to...) On a bike? We often wave to one another. The sense of community is there even though you don't know the other dude from Adam.... and when you do, it's even more fun.
So I'm off to a birthday party for one of our number... on the scooter; it's too short a trip for the "big" bike. :) (Besides, I owe one of the other guys a six of IPA for working on the big one last weekend, and it won't fit in the big bike's smaller top-box :)
