Speaking of violence against women
Apr. 20th, 2010 04:36 pmYesterday I was complaining about art. Today--life.
While I was complaining about violence against women as a norm in books, a man was shooting female nurses at Parkwest Hospital in Knoxville, about 40 miles from my house.
He killed one, wounded two others, and then turned the gun on himself.
Why women in particular? No idea. If the latest developments are correct, he was angry at a surgeon who had performed an appendectomy on him nine years ago. The guy was on anti-psychotic medications, which he apparently wasn't taking. He still had no problem getting his hands on not one, but two, guns.
Excuse me, I need to go howl now.
