In my last post but one I said it was cool to have a guest room, and it is.

Even cooler?  Two guest rooms.  Sort of, anyway.  The Rumpus Room, with the addition of a screen that Kip and I got a few days ago, and the inflatable mattress, becomes a guest room for my sister-in-law, who flew up for a whirlwind two days (the only way she could get here with the weather patterns forecast the way they were) to see us and her parents.

I am so pleased.  It is great to see my sister-in-law who I just haven't gotten to see enough of, and wonderful to be able to make a reasonably comfortable stopping spot for so many people.

We sang Christmas carols around the tree night before last (me and my mother-in-law and father-in-law--my father in law is quite a good singer, actually, and my mother-in-law sings well if she has someone to get her pitches from) and my mother-in-law and I made Blueberry Delight together last night and then I made moppen, which were well received (the Blueberry Delight is in the fridge for today--it was the moppen that were well received.)

Everybody said nice things about our tree, despite its unconventional decorations.  Including a little bat plushie, which I think Kip's Mom hasn't noticed yet; it's black so it doesn't show up well in the shadows of the branches.  She commented on all the gargoyles and didn't seem to find it too disturbing that they are all anniversary presents.

We are up; the in-laws are from a later time-zone and we are letting them sleep.  It snowed last night, so we're having a White Christmas; only the second time in my life this has happened to me, and the first one was rather sketchy.  Soon it will be Christmas morning and we shall have donuts, and moppen if I can keep my hands off them that long, and open presents.

I wish you and yours a happy day and many happy days to come.

Moppen sounds like Muppet food for Cookie Monster.

Have a lovely holiday!

The Cookie Monster would go ape over moppen.

And we did have a lovely holiday, and I hope you did too, and your stomach bug was swiftly gone.

I'm glad you are spending the holiday in the bosom of your family; my sister and nephew are in town from Tulsa, so all three sisters and the spouses are together, which doesn't often happen. May our and your time together be joyous and friction-free.
