Not bad for the week

Got the League of Women Voter's booklets printed, picked them up today. This means I will have them for our meeting next week--provided our meeting next week doesn't have to be cancelled due to ice (gosh I hope not since we had to do that last month.)
Got most of the paper on the desk and various other flat surfaces in the office sorted and filed. Still have some stuff to do on that, but I'm down to the last 10% of the project that takes the other 90% of the time.
Actually made some progress on the new canoe today--WhooHoo! I throttled a table of offsets out of Bearboat. The secret is 1) give up on getting anything in inches and figure on doing layout with the ruler marked in centimeters 2) realize that your Y coordinates (height) have a zero line that corresponds to the design waterline in the middle of them; get used to the idea 3) be prepared to spend some time in text edit getting all the columns lined up and 4) realize you can fake a stem and stern profile by demanding a cross section every centimeter and then only using the X=0 number from it.
I won't be able to draw it out until Monday afternoon, probably, if then, but at least I have made progress. And having the extra time makes it more likely I will catch and correct any mistakes before then. Hopefully.
Found rectangular-to-round adapters and round bendy pipe to channel the water from the downspouts away from the house in two places where the damp was getting under the foundation of the house. I have been worrying about this since late last fall, so it's good to have it (I hope) taken care of. I will go out there tomorrow and see if things are less swampy.
Next on the list: set up automatic withdrawal for IRA, do taxes, draw out canoe plans, put 6 mill plastic under the house. Because, hey, I had one productive week by setting goals, why not another?

Date: 2011-02-06 09:32 pm (UTC)I have one 2 foot long ruler that has a bottom edge marked in cms. I'll have to use the drafting table to draw out straight lines, then measure along them with the ruler. But I can do it.
