Dinner for one

Martin and Sandy were going to come over for dinner today so Martin could see the hot glue technique for securing the strips to the forms as I plank the canoe.  I had chicken all cooked up ready for home made chicken soup, I had not one but two strips bent and fitted, with the ends cut, ready to go on the boat (and I had to fit the second strip by threading it through the C clamps holding the first strip to the boat, which was challenging.) I had mopped the kitchen floor and cleaned off the dining room table and was in the process of sweeping the shop when Martin called.

Sandy is sick and they can't come.

Kip has gone off to a conference and won't be back for dinner.  Since he is an introvert and doesn't particularly enjoy guests this was seen as a bonus this morning.

The chicken stock can sit in the fridge a few more days.  I have, I think, maybe a couple more days worth of work I can do on the boat without attaching the planks, so if Sandy gets better in the next day or two we might be able to just postpone dinner.

I could make ramen and cabbage tonight.

I worked on a couple of songs for a while.  That worked out pretty well, actually.  I may have a new song to post in a day or two.  Maybe more than one.

And on the bright side, I can go to bed early and be ready for the Legislative Breakfast tomorrow.
