So, you know, the Rapture thing... Yeah.  I've seen a few good posts about it, but it's hard to come up with some fresh take to make it seem funny the third or fourth time it comes around in your life.

I do wonder what's going to become of those poor misled people who actually believed.  Some of them actually quit their jobs and spent their savings aiming to be broke today.  And past experience suggests when they are proven wrong, most of them will just double down.  Hell, the leader predicted the end of the world in 1994, and now he's doing it again.  But now he's "sure."

On the bright side, I understand it makes a decent excuse for a party.  Anybody going to an End-Of-The-World celebration?

Endeavor Commander Mark Kelly is on NPR as I type.  He should have a really good view of it as nothing happens today.  He called it a "fragile and beautiful planet that we need to take care of" and I agree.  I wish I could see it from space...

Got the seal coat of epoxy on the inside of the canoe.  Only a couple of runs, I think, and they look minor.

Did a load of laundry and a load of dishes.  Practiced some but not as much as I should have.  Mowed half the lawn (it was hot; I will do the other half tomorrow.)

Then I was meaning to go to bed early but I wrote a new song instead.  If I can get a decent recording of it tomorrow it will be my very belated Alice Day post (which should have been last weekend but I was in Atlanta).  It's a very simple thing called "It's Okay To Be Takei."  It is a sing-along so hopefully I can get people to do it with me.

Now it is not early anymore, but the chorus of the song is still running through my head, so I don't know if I can go to sleep or not.

Also I have *another* idea for a song.  Which is great, except I really need to sleep sometime, you know?  Thank goodness for the mp3 recorder--it is holding my Takei melody so I don't need to worry about forgetting it.
