I got the second inwale epoxied in, and the bowsprits epoxied on, and cut, and discovered that for getting them that last 32nd of an inch flush to the hull a plane works even better than a sander, though I did have to sharpen the plane first.  And I have one of the outwales clamped in place and all taped up but I'm not going to epoxy it on today because my arms are just too tired.

And my arms are tired because I cut out the decks and then used a handsaw to split the planks lengthwise for bookmatching.  My bandsaw is just not big enough for this and the handsaw arguably gives better control anyway.  However that control is still not great, which means a *lot* of planing to get the bookmatched sides flat.  I'm not nearly done but if I let myself get too tired I will drop a delicate tool on the boatshop's cement floor which is a bummer.

So I'm stopping.  And in about an hour and a half, I'm going to bed.  So I can get up early tomorrow and do all the stuff I should have done today.

Our house (which still feels new although we've lived here about two and a half years now) includes a "rumpus room" and since neither Kip nor I are particularly prone to rumpus, it ends up holding stuff we haven't found another place for but plan to find another place for. It also holds my musical instruments and stuff. And once I got serious about filking again, it kind of grew a music nook.

Anyway, when I'm recording or going to a con, much of the music nook is packed up and travels with me.  But not the screen (which we originally got to screen off the rumpus room to make it sort of a second guest bedroom when we had Keely and Kip's parents all with us for Christmas.)  It turns out the holes in the screen will hold a length of 2x2 which makes a great place for the Zoom H4n to perch for recording.  I can run the power cord to an outlet which means I don't have to leave batteries in it.  My old Zoom died of a burst battery, so now I only put batteries in it when I have to unplug it and take it somewhere.  I'd leave them out even then except it's a pain to have to reset the date and time all the time.

With all the recording I am still learning new things about the Zoom.  For instance I can set the recording mode to "over write" so all the false starts and places where I screwed up on the first verse and stuff don't make a million little files to slog through, but then if I get a take I like, but I want to try again and see if I can do even better, all I have to do is disconnect the take from the track (by setting the file attached to the track to "none") to save it.
