Made it through a day

catsittingstillWell, yesterday was tough and I almost went home in the middle, but I'd taken on an experiment to try to evaluate how well one of our protein purification techniques was working and if I'd given up on it all my time (and all that protein) would have been wasted. So I stuck it out to 6:00pm, aided by plenty of ibuprofen and toward the end of it, by my cane.
Then I went home and (snivel) did the laundry and the dishes because Kip has gone back to work for the spring semester and wasn't home to pamper me. Then I had a hot bath, and put a cold pack on my back (hey if you don't know which one is better--try both!) had some more ibuprofen and went to bed.
Today I'll run the gel that will tell me if the experiment worked or not. In the meantime, my back was a bit better yesterday than Monday and I think maybe it's a bit better today than yesterday. But goodness knows when I'll find time to get ready to talk at group meeting tomorrow. I hope they don't want anything fancy.
