catsittingstillOn time! My clever plan was to pre-write this, and set it eyes-only for me, and post-date it, so it stayed at the top of my posts where I could find it easily, and then today I just changed the permissions and the date/time to release it on an unsuspecting world! Mwa ha ha ha ha!
I wrote this song on the way to Marcon (well, I got the idea quite a while ago, but I finished it on the way to Marcon, except for the tune which I finished today (Saturday June 4th, for what it's worth.)
Trial Balloon will be the "album" of experimental mixes, and when I solidify something it will move off Trial Balloon and onto the real album. (I haven't decided yet what that will be named, though "Dispatches from the Padded Room" is one possibility, as is "The King's Lute" or "All yOur SongZ R BeLong 2 US" or some variant thereof.)
In other news, I will be doing the last gluing of gunwale scarfs today. I epoxied in the through-holes (to attach ropes to the bow and stern when the canoe is done) a couple of days ago, and cut them near-flush with the hull (very carefully) this morning. Next I fit and install the inwales so I can make the decks and put on the "bowsprits" so I can install the outwales.
