Musical Day and Clever Plan
Jun. 5th, 2011 09:11 amI have been late with the last few Alice Day posts, because they've been happening to fall on weekends when I'm really busy, and while moving the lyrics/chords to DW/LJ is quick and easy, practicing the music, recording the mp3s, trimming, converting and uploading is a bit less so.
But I was feeling kind of bad about being late for Alice Day so much, and it occurred to me I could do them ahead of time, adjust the date to a year from now to keep them at the top of my post list, and set them so only I could see them. Then come Alice Day all I need to do is change the permissions and correct the date, which is a matter of three minutes internet access.
One side effect of this is that the current half-finished Alice Day post is the first thing I see when I log into DW/LJ. Which I guess has the potential to keep me focused on finishing up the recording and such.
Yesterday ended up being a fairly productive day musically--I recorded songs for two Alice Day posts (one still needs to be trimmed, converted and uploaded) worked out chords and worked on melodies for two songs, entered Brown Bird into PrintMusic (a Finale derivative) and sent a PDF to one friend, and sent a file of _The King's Lute_ to another friend.
Today really ought to be a canoe day, to compensate. I'm reasonably pleased with the fact that I fiberglassed the boat inside and out in the month of May, but I'd like to have some progress to show for June :-)
