This is an Alice Day post twice over, actually, because this is a song Alice commissioned. I am pretty happy with how it came out, and more importantly, Alice liked it

Just in case anyone is trying to play along, when I recorded it, I capoed 3 because it is a bit too low for me where it sits. And of course the chords won't sound quite like guitar chords because I play this song (as most songs) on Pearl, the Octave Mandolin.

Like the Fae, some are monsters who murder for years
While some are more subtle but live to drink tears
And some think a meal ticket simply their due,
And are happy to batten on you.

The Fae can be seen through a hole in a stone
And by these three signs is a sociopath known
Duty neglected, however it cries,
Promises broken, and lies.

Since it's rather a long song, I've been doing 2 verses and a chorus, but, while I think the first two verses need to go together, after that it could be verse, chorus, verse, chorus in the usual way, if the performer wants.
