Made it through another day

We had a deluge at work today. I think a pipe must have broken in the crawlspace or on the roof. Dirty water first dripped, then poured from the ceiling in the E corridor, where our lab is. In the ten minutes it took for the first maintanence people to show up it filled several garbage cans. One of them was waist high. Water was running down the hall, into the warm room (warmed for growing bacteria), into the equipment room where several of the local freezers live, pooling around the entrance to one of the lab's rooms. Eventually people showed up who knew how to shut it off, and our lab didn't seem to be much affected. But it was impressive.

Back-wise it was another difficult day today, but maybe better. I was never seriously tempted to pack it all in and go home. But now I need to pack for GaFilk and prepare a talk for the lab meeting tomorrow.
