Update

I wrote a song about the subject of yesterday's entry.  It has a cool little octave mandolin run in it I don't have down reliably yet, but when I think I can do it, I will put it up as an Alice Day post. 

In the meantime I owe you a bunch of those; they kind of fell by the wayside as I was working so hard to finish the album.  I will get some extras up to make up.  But right now I'm working on getting my album up on Bandcamp (those uploads take a while, and my drawing program doesn't want to make a jpeg wide enough to be my banner) and putting in a few side hours on making a vest, which I think is going nicely but today is the day I learn how to make pockets so we'll see.  Also I need to finish the last bits of making the pdf songbooks, and --oh yeah--clean house for family coming, find some fun things for everyone to do and make a few D&D games.

I'm so grateful to K and G who took over my shifts at the Rural clinic this month!

That sounds like a lot of work! But the family visit sounds promising, if you're planning fun activities. Does your family like roleplaying games?

Dad, no, but my brother is the guy we'll be gaming with.

Dad usually stays for a week or so, and Jake for an extra week after that. For the first week we'll hike and canoe and go to the movies, for the second week we'll game like mad things, late into the night.

I love Dad and he loves me but after about a week it's time to say good-bye while we can still smile at each other.

HA! Yes, yes indeed. It sounds like you have a pretty good system in place, though.
