One of the most distressing things about the research funding is that most of the published work comes from the firearms industry itself, or from the radical-right organizations like the American Enterprise Institute and the Heritage Foundation.

So we have a severe shortage of facts, and much of the published literature (seldom in reviewed publications) is from questionable sources.

BTW, that xojane article's comments filled up with poison. There is no substitute for active moderation.
