Still working on the album

catsittingstill I am not happy with my mixes. The songs are great. The arrangements are fine. The performances are adequate... but in some cases the mix is coming out sounding thin and weak and I can't figure out why.
I'm going to get some analytical tools tomorrow and see if I can sort out what needs to be done. I have until Friday afternoon to do it. Or until Monday evening if I decide to skip the Atlanta Housefilk to work on it.
In the meantime, I have been working so hard on mixing that practicing has fallen by the wayside. I don't think I've touched the octave mando for a week--or rather, I hadn't, before about an hour ago when I practiced mando and octave mando both. My fingers are a little sore, but not bad, considering, and I think I haven't lost as much skills as I was afraid I might have.
