Pearl and I are both home.

catsittingstill GaFilk was a great deal of fun, also quite exhausting. As a last minute inspiration I recruited a couple of mimmoth wranglers to have Ozymandias and Dab act out the "Dr Faber's Medicine Show" scenario (mnemex was one, but I'm blanking on the name of the other.) The first part of my concert was a bit less polished than I would have liked, but toward the middle I hit my stride; I missed Pearl but Lark stepped bravely into the breech and people seemed to enjoy it.
The concerts were wonderful. The Toastmaster gig is harder than previous Toastmasters have made it look--for some reason I couldn't keep more than two things in my head when I stepped on stage, and generally I felt I had to give the names of the performers priority, if I could work out what they were, so I forgot a lot of other stuff people asked me to mention.
Since the Con kindly paid my way I got to spent a bit more in the dealers room than usual; I got three CDs (one from Greg and Susan Csikos--which is pronounced "CHEE kosh" and I got it right both times) and two from Southern Fried Filk, and I got three books as well.
Alice and Beth and Marie had kindly accepted delivery of my 500 copies of Dr. Faber's Medicine Show, and had them delivered to me at the con. So I had *plenty* of CDs, and could assure everyone with a straight face that I would not be running out. For those who want them I now have them available at Bandcamp or from me when you see me in person or from Southern Fried Filk, or Kathy Sands. (They are available to other fine filk dealers as well; it's just that I've only had them for three days.)
Friday afternoon at the con I got the call that Pearl was repaired so I picked her up Monday on the way home. The tech thought everything had gone well. I haven't really played her yet, but she seems okay. Bed now.
