Yeah, I know, I really ought to post more often.
I have a con report for Capricon about half finished. The short version is "Wow; I had a great time--it's a wonderful con--you should go!" But I don't have time to mess with it right now.
The thing is that I think I've lost a bet with a friend of mine on a subject I can't disclose but I put up a CD of all my songs that I've written for the last year for my side of the bet. At the time it was, big deal, maybe six. But on account of getting so inspired for CapriCon, it's now more like fifteen (okay, a couple of them were written before last year, but they're good, and they aren't on anything, and I got them all practiced up for Capricon, so...). I thought I had a clever idea for recording them; I used my little mp3 recorder to record several of my practice sessions, figuring if I didn't get a clean take of a song on one night, I'd get it on another.
Alas, I failed to remember that the reason I was *practicing* was that I wasn't very *good* on those songs yet. So I have a number of songs where I didn't get any clean takes. So now I'm going to go back and re-record those songs so as to have clean takes to put on the CD (don't let me give you the wrong impression here; this is not a studio CD; this is a livingroom carpet CD--if they were little mistakes I wouldn't bother). I'm hoping to get three songs today, three songs tomorrow, and so on. However in an hour, I have to leave to go have dinner and play Scrabble.
So that's why I don't have time to finish my con report today.
(I also did dishes, scrubbed the kitchen and bathroom sinks, scrubbed the tub and the kitchen floor, read a chapter of the Micro book I'll be teaching from, and fixed the vacuum robot, so it has been a busy day.)
Off to record!

I'll email to the address in your LJ profile.
