catsittingstillI went biking again yesterday, with Don and his girlfriend Judy. Remember I mentioned a mucky little pond Tuesday? Well, it can't have been that mucky, because when we passed it this time I saw two somethings (fish?) make startled rings at the surface, and a heron launched off the bank. So I stand (sit? pedal?) corrected.
We meant to cut our trip shorter because we got started later, but wound up following a different road ("come on, let's see where this goes") so we rode for 15 miles total. On top of the strength training exercises I started yesterday, I barely made it home :-). The sun was sinking low on the return trip, and some of the stretches were heavily shaded by woods; I was glad I'd brought my bike light. People have generally been very polite and careful about passing, but I would hate to have somebody just not see us in time.
It's still beautiful out there. Next trip, I'll take the camera.
