Jam all over myself!
Sep. 19th, 2003 01:02 pmLast night I went to Music at the Park at Panther Creek. I took the mandolin instead of the guitar this time. I kind of crept in at the back of the crowd (being a modest and retiring person), but quickly got invited up front to play. In fact, Ed kept urging me to stand in front of one of the mikes, which was a little problematic, because I didn't know most of the songs I was trying to play along with, and in some cases I didn't even have any foggy idea of the key. So sometimes I found a good harmony, or at least the melody, and played it loudly with verve and flair, and sometimes I thrashed around with no idea of what I was doing. But the other players lied bravely about what a good player I was and hardly winced at all, and maybe with some more practice I could get competent at this.
Jamming is fun! :-)
