The Debate was on the radio

It's a big man who can say when his opponent is right.
Obama said it several times. When he thought McCain was wrong, he said so, but when McCain was right, he said that too.
McCain never did. He could only attack Obama.
Sad, really.

I do think "appearance counts" for the general audience, so McCain's demeanor may hurt him.
...Keith Olbermann is citing a "snap poll" from CBS of uncommitted voters: 40% say Obama won, 38% say it was a draw, 22% say McCain won.
The CW is if it's a draw, McCain lost, because he was expected to dominate in foreign policy.

The part where McCain was having trouble pronouncing foreign leaders names kind of startled me--it's great that he knows all these people, and what their positions are, but even I can say Ahmedinejad, while McCain seemed barely able to choke it out. I know he knows this stuff, so that surprised me.
Also it's a little odd that he called Pakistan a failed state before Musharraf's coup. I'm sure it wasn't perfect but it seemed to be reasonably functional.
I liked Obama's points about how energy ties in with so much of foreign policy, and how we're not going to be able to drill our way out of that. If we could only get a president and a Congress who took renewable energy seriously, maybe we could finally make some progress.
